Digital Citizenship Week 📱

October 17-21

Digital media has become a significant part of our everyday lives both in the classroom and outside. With the advancement of technology and our digital renaissance has come a world of opportunities for our students – expanded social connections, innovative educational opportunities, unlimited avenues of self expression, and a world of new career paths. Over 65% of students entering grade school today will one day work in jobs that have not yet been created. The teenagers of today have been shown to consume an average of 9 hours of digital media daily and even 38% of children under the age of two are using mobile devices for media.

It is never too early or too late to teach our students the importance of navigating the digital world safely and responsibly.

That’s why for 10 years, Common Sense Education has promoted Digital Citizenship Week every third week of October.
